- I really like Rupert. This video is a good example of him showing that videoblogging is easy and can be done anywhere. Shot on a camera phone.
- http://robertcroma.com/ : amazing work by Robert in London.
- http://vimeo.com/289562: super cute, but nicely shows why making online video is cool
- Chuck Olsen clearly shows why old copyright rules are over with this video. It's really a classic.
- This great video is part of Rob Parrish's brilliant Next To heaven series. he edits stories from public domain footage from archive.org.
- Great video about distributing a "movie" online versus going through the system: http://arincrumley.tumblr.com/post/11705758
- In 2005, pre-Youtube, Verdi's daughter, Dylan, makes this great video about punk music.
- David Kessler's Under the EL. Great article about his work here.
- Aliveinbaghdad: a great project that gets Iraqis to tell their own story. A good model for other people who want to help see videos from other countries. I helped start a similar project in India at Swajana.com.
- Colombia Migration Project: Maria Gomez spent six months interviewing Colombians in the US and their home country about the expectations and reality of moving to the US. Funded by our community at HMWV. A great example of how online video can be used.
- Lost in Light: Aaron Valdez and Jennifer Proctor started this tremendous project where you can send 8mm films to them for free transfer to DVD and the web. They understand the treasure trove of material in people's closets that should be shared with all creators. Also funded by HMWV.
- Chris Weagel of Human Dog made the video, Lac St Clair, about all the shopping options in his suburb.
- Richard Hall reports back from his Videoblogging Experiment.
- Milt Lee does great work documenting his peeps on the Rez. Here's one of my favorites where he does a video letter between a father and his 3 daughters.
- John is an insane poetical nutjob who is the genius behind Total Vom. He brilliantly makes art out of his video comments to Youtube videos. They never knew what hit them. Check out this video in a Fair Use struggle he had with another Youtube becasue of this video.
- Chris Ereneta is a quiet master that needs to make more. Watch this video where he learns that his boy has Hyperlexia is amazing. You'll never see anything like it. He e
- I met Heath Parks (aka Batman Geek) in his hometown of Cincinnati after knowing him online for about 2 years. He's writes plays, directs, and acts. This makes him a storyteller to watch. I like this anniversary video he did where he captured how we all feel about videoblogging.
- Dude, Ive never met the people who make this show, but the Midwestteensexshow is what I dreamed videoblogging would be. People (not in LA or NYC) talking about "uncomfortable" topics like, being gay.
- People know I like bugs and things that crawl. Andreas made this great video of a slug.
- Michael Verdi has lots I want to rave about, but this post on how he makes animation really inspires me.
- Mary Matthews made a short documentary about her friend who makes crazy costumes for the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. Not too long ago, a documentary filmmaker would have no where to put her work. Now anyone on the planet can watch this story with the original context, have a conversation with Mary (the creator), and the video is archived on this blog.
- I like how this video by Daniel Liss feels sci-fi: http://pouringdown.tv/?p=185
- The Associated Press Photo Managers Association (USA) made a video on how the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel uses video on the website of their newspaper: http://www.apphotomanagers.org/ktmlpro/images/uploads/video%20editing.mov Good example of how web video can be used to tell local stories.
